TWINCLING Society is a registered, "not-for-profit" organization, incorporated in Hyderabad (India), under the Andhra Pradesh Societies Registration Act, 2001. (10th December, 2001, vide G.O.Ms.No. 742, Revenue (R&M), dt. 10.12.2001).
The charter of TWINCLING Society is to Develop and Promote Open Source software.
We take pride in execution and we emphasise contemporary and pragmatic approach to Open Source software and technical excellence in software development.
Our key activities at a glance are:
- show case Open Source as a superior way to build software and gain competitiveness.
- work with the students community to create awareness about Open Source value proposition, conduct seminars and workshops.
- encourage students and professionals to contribute to Open Source projects and make a difference to themselves and the Society at large.
- help students acquire technical skills through Open Source and thereby make available a competitive work force in Andhra Pradesh.
- help companies in setting up operations (legal, resources, hires) in Hyderabad, capital of the most progressive state of India.
- assist organizations to migrate to Open Source by select choice of licensing, strategic marketing and PR.
- design and develop Open Source software for the community and by community contributions.
- conduct two annual promotional events - TWINCLING (a.k.a Open Source Round Up) and OSEF (Open Source Entrepreneurship Forum)
TWINCLING Society is the only organization anywhere in India that promotes a pragmatic and meritocratic perspective on growth in IT leveraged on Open Source model and community. The Society has more than 2,600 members, has significant reachout initiatives in Andhra Pradesh and is well represented in community and industry events.
