Talk on Git and Gitolite by Sitaram Chamarty

Brief summary

Git is a distributed version control system that has been around for a few years now.  It is very fast and stable. While early adopters to git faced a steep learning curve, a number of tutorials and user friendly commands, including a bunch of GUIs, and plugins for various IDEs etc., have now made using git easy.  However, Git is different enough in its basic concepts that people who have never used a VCS seem to understand it faster, compared to people who have used some other VCS extensively.  This talk will hopefully be useful to both kinds of developers.

Gitolite is a user-management layer on top of git written in perl, inspired by the somewhat venerable "gitosis". Gitolite adds a lot more features as well as extensive documentation.
